just had a chance to add

it's been kind of crazy - with work, with home, with everything. Never seems like I have a spare moment. Never enough hours in a day. Just finished reading a great book - Peony in Love by Lisa See. I totally loved this book. Great story - so sad and so moving. I would recommend this to anyone you loved "Memories of a Geisha"

Also I recently went with my friend Amy and got a new tattoo. He is adorable and I love it. Now I am wondering what to get next. I still want a sparrow - so that might have to be next. We will see. So I thought I would share him with you. His name is Freddy Prince, he is a prince of the forest. What better name could he have had - since he is a flying frog. And doesn't he look like a "Freddy"

ta ta for now

TGIF

Even though it is late and the day is almost over. I was glad that it was Friday. Had a great time tonight at a lace sock KAL. The sock I am doing is very easy and almost done sock #1. Glad the week is over and I have two days off to regroup. Tomorrow I will spend most of the day at Ewenique Yarns and Ron and Bobby are off to NYC with Steve and Neal to see a Yankee game. Bobby is so excited. I hope they have fun. I am going to try to get a couple of projects completed this weekend.

took off of work for a couple of days

Kids are on Easter break from school all week - I decided that I needed a couple of days off also, so I took off for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Today is Thursday and we are all headed to Bobby's baseball game. it is a double header today. It is kind of yucky outside - damp and cool - not a lovely day for sitting at two ball games. I will probably spend some time in the car knitting or reading. My back has been hurting so I am not sure how long I will be able to sit there. Either way I am not at work and I am trying to relax and de-stress myself.

mammo was clear

Posted this as a comment to original post but it doesn't just show up - so I figured the news did deserve its own post.

MAMMO was clear :) all clear for a year -----wooo hooo !!

When will this week end

I have felt all day that it was Friday - how I wish this week would end. For some unknown reason this week has been unbelievably long. I am so glad that Friday is finally upon us. I think I need to take a couple of days off. Employees at work have been taxing to say the least. Usually you get this false sense of security and then all of a sudden it explodes. I try to be a fair and reasonable boss but sometimes no matter what you do it is not good enough. Most people fail to realize that we all work for a company and there are rules. I cannot help but to enforce the rules, that is my job. Most of the people in the office that have an "attitude" are the "guilty" ones. I am weary of these people. Usually when I feel like this it is time to take some time off and regroup, strengthen my reserve. I feel that this will be in my near future for if it isn't I shall go mad. (Like the drama?""""")
I just watched "John Adams" the mini series on HBO - we watched episodes one and two. This Sunday will be episode three. The series is really good so far. It makes you feel so "patriotic" you know the whole "Give me Liberty or give me death" feeling. I so love the history of our country, which most people forget about. If anyone reads this and has HBO you should so watch this series. I think that it might even be good enough that school children should watch this. Our freedom should not be taken for granted. Men and women died for us. Men and women continue to die for this country. No one that has ever died for our freedom or our country should be forgotten.
Happy Easter to all who read. Remember Easter is for the honor of someone who also died for us. Died for us so our sins could be forgiven - the ultimate sacrifice. If only everyone realized the sacrifices made for each of us.

May the Lord continue to watch over each of us and protect us. Keep a watch on me Dad- I miss you but I know I will see you again one day. PS: Mom is doing ok.

Happy St Patty's day

Hope you have your green shirt on - Mine says "Luck of the Irish" with a big ole glass of Guiness.

Was alittle bored here at work today - I hate Mondays and I got the Monday midday tired eyes, so I went internet shopping. I bought a couple new pattern books, a row counter and a cute little "critter case". I so need the row counter for the blanket coat I am working on - it will be easier than a paper and pencil to do the count.

We had a weekend of sitting in the cold watching our high schooler play baseball. The season has begun. I love sitting and knitting but actually yesterday it was so cold I had trouble knitting - my fingerless gloves kept my hands warm but my fingers were too cold to knit - so I switched to my mittens and just watched the game. Game goes slower if you don't knit !!!!

Come on Spring !!!!!!

Have a Happy St Patricks Day - stay away from the green beer because green puke is not so cute!!!!!

Just alittle bit worried - I hate getting tests that are looking for something when I am not sick - I am always afraid that they will find something. Make sense?

So today I feel like the picture - just close my eyes and put my head down. Wish me luck!!

Just for Melissa

My ever faithful blog watcher!!!! Yes I am alive - but I have definitely had better days. In my fourth day of the flu - It has attacked my head, my nose, my chest, my arms, now my stomach and lower intestines! Sounds like fun doesn't it - I have hardly knit - I have watched Law & Order, and the TNT channel and today there was a Ghost Hunters marathon - woo hoo
I refuse to resort to Jerry Springer though - Please pray for my wellness - I don't want to associate with Jerry Springer or Maury and I am getting afraid that the channel is pulling me closer. !!!! Never forget to get your flu shot !!! I shall never forget again !!

Love ya Melissa and remember you should be working !!!!!

Time to knit

There is just never enough time to knit. Today I spent the day at Ewenique Yarns, I help out every Saturday. I love spending time there.
Now I am home, lounge clothes on and the time to knit is upon me. I am going to make Neal his "mohawk hat" in his high school colors. The mohawk hat was a hit at the yarn store today , everyone wants to make one in Baltimore Raven colors or Baltimore Orioles colors. I can't wait to see them
Feeling a cold coming on - I hate having a cold, but it seems like half of Baltimore is sick with either the flu or a cold. Hopefully resting tonight and tomorrow will help.
So on with the knitting!

Friday at work!!!

Today is the 29th - and it is not a real day - so even though I am at work - I am having trouble concentrating!! I think that is because today is not a real day!!!!

I also found out something today that is quite interesting - the book "Magnificent Mittens" is out of print. I was searching for a copy when I found that out - guess what - the book is selling for $200 to $300 dollars. Look I love colorwork but I don't think I love it that much. I was in shock by the time I finished searching!!!!!!!

Also I ordered a bunch of yarn from Jimmy Beans wool and have been waiting patiently for the box to arrive. Yesterday my email said that the box was delivered but it is no where to be found around my house. So it seems that someone in my neighborhood needed yarn or the UPS guy did. I have never had a package disappear from my porch! never and I have lived there 15 years. I am so upset.

So I close with this - see I told you today is not really a day - and even if it is - maybe it just isn't my day !!!!!!! Picture above is soooooo how I feel !!!!!

the BIG storm- yeah right

Needless to say to anyone that lives in the Baltimore area - you will know what I mean- a whole lot of hype and not much action. You would have thought by the news this morning that the storm of the century was upon us. Oh my God! Yeah right - not much happened - a whole lot of closings though. Really makes me mad but I bet you the grocery stores were happy last night! It could be a conspiracy- what do you think?????

will it snow ????? that is the question

no - the question is probably how will it snow - lots - none- just a traffic mess - News is saying just a wintery mix with sleet and freezing rain - so that means another fun day in traffic - oh boy - can't wait. I wish is would be just a blizzard - I would love to just knit all day !!!!!!!!!!

Latest Book Series that I am reading

I am only on the first book but it is so good I just have to share. It is a Vampire series by Stephenie Meyer. First Book is Twilight, then New Moon and the third is Eclipse. I cannot wait to get through all three books. If you love vampire stories this is one of the best I have read so far. Then I just saw on Amazon that Breaking Dawn comes out in August 2008 (which will be the fourth and final in this series). I also saw that she has another book coming out May 6, 2008 called Host - I am not sure what that is about though.
Great reads - check them out

Hello from work

I should be working but I am so excited about this Blogger thing that I can't concentrate. I just want to sit and surf all day (oh and knit too)
It is snowing in Baltimore - oh boy the ride home should be wonderful !!!!!!

MANOS

"My so called Scarf" knit with Manos - which is my favorite yarn to knit with - I wear this scarf everywhere. I love this stitch - now I am making three scarves in Manos Silk/Wool Blend - which is wonderful. These three scarves will be for the Cardiologists who recently took care of my Dad when he was in the hospital before he passed away a week ago.

First submission

OH My God - I have a blog
What a change Ravelry has done to me
